Automotive Learning Online
https://www.carparts.com/
GRADE LEVEL: 10-12

A CONTENT:
Automotive Learning Online provides an interactive view of the automobile for education purposes. Information here on parts, mechanisms and repairs.

A AESTHETICS:
The site uses a lot of diagrams, drawings, graphics and animations within a framed page. It has been designed with Java and requires more advanced browsers for users to be able to view the information.

A ORGANIZATION:
The frames separate the information into a diagrams area and one for text.

REVIEW:
Though this site uses newer technology for display it does have instructions on setting up browsers to best view information. Here users will find over one hundred illustrations and even more links about the automobile. By moving the mouse over the interactive images, areas of the image with more information are highlighted. By selecting the eyeglass icon that appears next to the item name users will get a more detailed image. Then, choose the text icon for additional information. The main systems of the automobile featured at the site are: brake, cooling, body/exterior, exhaust, fuel, electrical, engine and AC/heat. This is a very detailed site and would make an excellent tool for interactive classroom learning in vocational schools. Physics or other science discipline classes could also use the site for demonstrating some of the principles and designs used in the automobile.
