REVIEW:
Three university students studying elementary education created this site for middle elementary students to learn more about geography. The site uses a cartoonish character, Dr. Globe, to help users navigate the site. Viewers can visit sections randomly by clicking on any hyperlink on the home page or they can follow the units in order using the navigation buttons at the bottom of each page. Users will learn about directions, compasses, hemispheres, the equator, and the concepts of longitude and latitude. The end units teach about locating destinations on maps and globes. The site has details on several European nations, with information from the Lonely Planet Web site. Users can view maps and practice their newly learned skills. This is an inclusive site that would easily make an interactive lesson plan or be used for several lessons over a longer period of time.
