CONTENT:
Dewey to the Rescue is a multimedia tour of the Dewey decimal classification system.
AESTHETICS:
This entertaining and informative site requires Flash Player, which can be downloaded at the site.
ORGANIZATION:
Navigation is made easy with a left-side menu. Users can click through the tour linearly or move between the main areas by choosing a link from the menu.
REVIEW:
All you ever wanted to know about organizing "information on any topic under the sun" is right at your fingertips. This multimedia tour, done in Flash, allows the user to sit back and enjoy the show. Topics covered include problems the Dewey decimal classification system solves, how the DDC organizes information, where the DDC comes from, and more. An interactive quiz tests viewers' knowledge after the tour. This site is be a great way to introduce students to the Dewey decimal system.
