Bartleby.com: Great Books Online
http://www.bartleby.com
GRADE LEVEL: 6-8, 9-12

CONTENT:
Bartleby.com provides free Web access to a comprehensive collection of reference, verse, fiction, and nonfiction works.
AESTHETICS:
The pages are attractive, and the layout is consistent throughout the site.
ORGANIZATION:
Navigate the site by choosing one of the content areas from a pull-down menu. Search individual selections, major categories, or the entire site by keyword.
REVIEW:
Bartleby.com offers complete electronic texts of classic books that are out of copyright as well as such current reference sources as the Columbia Encyclopedia, sixth edition; The American Heritage Dictionary of the English Language, third edition; Roget's II: The New Thesaurus, third edition; Simpson's Contemporary Quotations; and The American Heritage Book of English Usage. Search all the electronic books by keyword, or browse the table of contents. Graphics and sound make the selections come to life for users. New additions to the site include the 1914 Oxford edition of the Complete Works of William Shakespeare and E. Cobham Brewer's 1898 Dictionary of Phrase and Fable. This site has tons of material to use with elementary and middle school kids working on report-writing skills or with older students working on in-depth research projects.
