REVIEW:
Take your students on a virtual field trip to Peru guided by high school students! During a three-week tour in July 2000, ten high school students toured the country of Peru as part of the CARE Youth Corps. The students had the opportunity to work alongside Peruvian families in self-help projects under the supervision of CARE. Although the tour is finished, visitors to the site will still find the information interesting. Students can experience the country and its culture through the eyes of the Youth Corps members. In addition to the daily journal entries exploring such places as Lima, villages in the Andes Mountains, and the ruins of Machu Picchu (the lost city of the Incas), students will find photos, background information on Peru, and a map of the country. By clicking on the drop-down menu at the top of each page, users can go on other CARE virtual field trips to such places as Bolivia, Haiti, Honduras, Kosovo, Madagascar, and Mali. Of course, there is also information on CARE and its programs.
