ORGANIZATION:
This site is organized by state. The main page has links to each state and the state pages have numerous links in the text of the page. Each state page also has Yellow Pages & White Pages search links at the top of each page. Links to the homepage and site map are available at the top of each of the site's pages.
REVIEW:
50States.com offers state information in an easy-to-navigate format. The site includes many links for each state -- symbols, maps, genealogical information, driving information, government and current events, and much more. This site was originally developed in 1996 as a homework helper, but has developed into a site with a tremendous amount of information and links to other sites about each state. In addition to accessing data by state, the site map offers links to major groupings of data for all states such as state flags, state birds, biographies of important people, and facts and trivia related to the United States. The state song links access words to the state songs and most provide MIDI files of the songs. The site offers a study/teacher tool area with multiple links to other helpful geography sites. For teachers and students of geography or American History, this site is a valuable resource.
