Overview:
Students work in pairs to research information about some women scientists. Each pair chooses a different woman scientist to investigate. They then use their research to write articles (to be published in a special edition of the school newsletter) about the contributions of those scientists. All articles must include pictures, provide the information specified in the WebQuest's Process section, and be created in newspaper-style format.
The "Procedure" paragraph in the Teacher's Note section also suggests a variation on this quest: As an alternative to the newsletter articles, students can develop a Web page about the contributions of women scientists.

Notes:
The following Web sites from the WebQuest's Resources section have moved. Click the titles below to reach the new sites for those resources.

You might also check the resources below for more information on formatting newspaper-style articles and creating Web pages.

The WebQuest page for "Women in Science" notes that the project was developed for students in grades 8-12. The "Procedure" paragraph in the Teacher's Note section of the WebQuest indicates that the activity may be adapted for students in other grades.
