WebQuest Graphic Title: Holiday Celebrations

Topic: December holidays, multicultural holidays, Christmas, Hanukkah, Kwanzaa, Los Posadas

Subject: Language Arts, Social Sciences

Grades: PreK-2

URL: http://projects.edtech.sandi.net/kimbrough/holidaycelebrations/index.htm

Overview: Students work in pairs to learn about Christmas, Hanukkah, Las Posadas and Kwanzaa. As part of the research, each student also interviews his or her family about the holidays they celebrate in December. Using his or her research, each student then selects ideas from each holiday celebration and designs a new holiday.

To complete the WebQuest, each student uses the computer to write a description and create an illustration of his or her new holiday. Students might also make posters about their new celebrations. Students present their completed projects to the class.
