GADGET OF THE WEEK

Mixbook

By Alma Row

Share

Mixbook adds a new twist to online slide shows by enabling you to create a virtual book using your own digital photos. Simply establish a free account and click the Create button to begin. Set editing and viewing parameters, and then choose Create from scratch so you can control the placement of the photos. From your computer, or from an online account such as Flickr, Photobucket, orYahoo, upload the photos you want to use and create your layout The tool offers a ton of layout options -- many which include text -- and offers an engaging and educational way to promote writing across the curriculum. When the book is complete, you can view it virtually -- or purchase a hard copy. A 20-page book runs $12.99 plus shipping.
