What does it promise?  A comprehensive, digital model of the human brain, complete with scientific information detailing its parts and their functions.

3d brainDoes it deliver? Yes. The brain is rendered in gorgeous 3D and optimized for the Retina Display. Students can use the touch screen to rotate and zoom around 29 interactive structures. They can discover how each brain region functions, what happens when it is injured, and how it is involved in mental illness. Each detailed structure comes with information on functions, disorders, brain damage, case studies and links to modern research.

Can I Use it in My Classroom? This is the type of app that is perfect in a health or biology class. It goes beyond the old plastic organ models by providing a detailed digital model, striking images, and the ability to dissect and learn more through integrated links. With a price tag that reads “free,” this is one app that belongs on every biology teacher’s device
