Follow Fall With Teachers Around the World!

Fall doesn't officially begin until September 23rd, but you can start following fall today!

This week's CURRICULUM story tells of a free online project that's getting lots of notice. The project develops students' data collecting and scientific reasoning skills, and much more. Best of all, the project is all spelled out and easy to follow! (You've never gotten involved in an online project? This is the one to try!)

This week:

  • This week, Education World talked with teachers -- across the grades and around the world -- whose students charted fall's progress last year. Join them as they repeat this valuable learning project this fall. Read their comments and learn more about the project in Following Fall: A Free Online Project Is Getting Noticed!

  • While you're at it, why not try some of the fall related activities in this week's LESSON PLANNING story? They're dropping like fall leaves! Check out the ten activities in Add Color and Learning to Your Fall Lesson Plans.

  • Finally, this week's BOOKS IN EDUCATION story spotlights two new children's books about butterflies. Many teachers teach about migration at this time of year by following the annual fall migration of the monarch butterfly. These two new and very different books will make valuable additions to that study -- or to any school or classroom library. Be sure to read Butterfly Tales: New Picture Books Explore the Magic of the Life Cycle.
