Lesson Plan

In preparation for this game, create a list of several characters from novels, or a list of historical personalities, your students have encountered recently in class. Choose a volunteer to sit on a stool or chair in front of the chalkboard and face the class. Write a name from your list on the board above the student's head, but do not permit the student to read it. The student may ask as many as 20 yes-or-no questions of the class to determine the identity written behind him. If the identity is challenging, you might allow the students to offer a few clues to the guesser to lead him to the answer. When the personality has been revealed, the round is over and another volunteer takes the seat.

Assessment

Students who volunteer to ask questions in this game and solve their mystery personalities may be awarded a bonus point for their effort.
