Martha Washington new other woman would have enjoyed being first lady, but she would rather have stayed home in Mt. Vernon Virginia. As the Presidents wife, she made the best of living in the spot light. She made all guests feel welcome. On March 4, 1797 George Washington ended his term as president. He and Martha returned to Mt Vernon. Both of them died and were buryed there. Martha was home -- where she want to be -- for good.
