Shoot for the Stars

Sing songs and listen to recordings about stars. Here are just a few popular favorites:

  • "Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star"
  • "When You Wish Upon a Star"
  • "I Only Have Eyes for You (Are the Stars Out Tonight?)"
  • "Catch a Falling Star"...
  • Four Little Stars

Use some of the above song lyrics as writing/speaking prompts. Children can finish the sentence, create poetry, or write a story. Youngest children can fill in the blank with different words as you pause in the lyrics. For example:

  • "When I wish upon a star, _____________"
  • "Catch a falling star and put it _________."
