
Make sure students understand the assignment and what is expected. Too often we assume students understand what they are supposed to do and believe they are unmotivated when they fail to carry out an assignment when, in reality, they just don't understand what they are supposed to do. Be sure to explain in detail what is required and what you expect from the finished product.
