If youre facing a classroom management issue, try this strategy:
First, share the problem you see. Have students agree that the problem exists. Get their agreement in advance that the solution is in their hands and that they will go along with the "majority-rules" decision of the class.
Arrange students into small groups to brainstorm possible solutions to the problem. Set aside time for students to share their solutions. Have students discuss and vote openly on the two best solutions that come out of their brainstorming sessions. Then have them vote privately on the best of the two solutions.
