If a particular class is very noisy or disruptive, you might bring in a tape recorder and place it where students can see it. Turn on the recorder and record the class. You can analyze the tape to find out who is causing the problem. Use your taped evidence to talk with the class; let them suggest ways that might cut the noise and improve learning. If necessary, use your evidence as you conference with students or their parents.
