Each week, Education World offers a new idea to help you "make over" boring book report formats. If you're looking for a way to spice up book reports -- and truly engage students in reading -- you've come to the right place. Check out this week's makeover idea
Introduce students to the complexities of characterization and motivation.
Have each student compose six to eight questions he or she might pose to a main character in a book just completed. Then invite each student to write that character's responses to the questions. The questions and answers should provide information that demonstrates that the student has read and understood the book.
