Best Idea Ever: Cultural Handprints

Education World's Best Idea Ever feature highlights a favorite teacher-tested idea designed to help you teach a lesson, manage a classroom, communicate with parents, impress colleagues and administrators—and amaze them all with your energy and creativity!

In David Anderson's 'Handprints Across the World' project, students trace their hands to make a handprint that shows the individuality of each person. Students then illustrate their handprints with pictures representing their own culture or heritage. "Each picture represents a unique idea about their culture -- foods, sports, tourist attractions, religion, music, and so on," Anderson explains.
