REVIEW:
Lessons of War looks at the evolution of tactics and technology and how it has influenced European warfare from ancient to modern times. Combining the study of historical background information with interactive battle simulations allows history to come alive, captivating students. Users are pitted against the computer as they direct their armies in battle against Rome, Napoleon, or Hitler. The Collaboration feature allows two users (or groups) to work together on a reenactment from remote locations. Teachers will like the site's Class Coordination feature that allows them to monitor the progress of their students. Each of the reenactments can take several weeks to complete and are an excellent addition to world history classes. I'm pleased to say that this is another outstanding site from the ThinkQuest competition, put together by students in Wisconsin, Germany and Vermont. Great job!
