REVIEW:
Edventures! comes from PCS Education Systems which has "over a decade of experience in hands-on education" through its Learning Centers. The philosophy behind Edventures!, according to PCS is that "today's rapidly evolving World Wide Web offers an increasingly user-friendly communication environment for students, parents, and educators". The program is fee-based and the costs per month are outlined on the site in the fee info section. Information is also available for educators interested in licensing for classrooms, schools, or districts. The main page has information sections for parents, students and educators as well as information on the subjects available, materials used and hardware required. In the subjects browser (the link from the left bar, not the right side menu) an overview and list of projects are available for each subject's sample lesson. At the bottom of each page is a link to a graphic representation of a sample lesson. The site is still developing and requests input for additional subject matter or any comments or suggestions users may have. This could be an excellent tool for parents and students to work on projects together or for teachers to increase the interest level in the classroom.
