GRADE LEVEL: K-12
Written By: Hazel Jobe

CONTENT:
GaggleNet offers free and safe Web-based e-mail to schools and classrooms.

AESTHETICS:
This site is well designed for its purpose: delivering a service to teachers and schools.

ORGANIZATION:
Step-by-step directions for signing up an entire school system or an individual class are easy to follow. Information on the features of the e-mail service is available on the site.

REVIEW:
Have you ever wanted to participate more fully in collaborative projects but couldn't because your students didn't have e-mail accounts? Now you can give your students individual e-mail accounts but remain in complete control with GaggleNet. Teachers can quickly review any and all messages, block messages with unacceptable content, grant or deny student usage, and control incoming messages. The format is easy to use for any grade level. The free version does include advertising but according to the advertising policy, "all advertisers are screened by a committee of educators to make sure that the ads are appropriate for students." There is also an option to subscribe, without advertising, for a fee.
