REVIEW:
This site is an excellent resource for the student studying the
U.S. Federal court system. This is a module that can be followed
sequentially for a complete look at the system. It begins with a
brief introduction that gives an overview of the federal court system
and moves on to explore how the federal courts are organized with
an illustrative diagram and a discussion about navigating the court
system. Next is an overview of what jurisdiction is and the types
of cases that the federal courts hear, information about the lowest
(Federal District Courts) to the highest (Federal Courts of Appeal)
levels of federal courts and the Supreme Court, “the highest
in the land”. There is also information about federal courts
with special jurisdiction such as bankruptcy courts, tax courts,
and federal claims courts, and an introduction to legal research.
Included is a full glossary, a list of online resources and an overview
of the accessibility features of the module. |
