Listservs and e-newsletters can keep educators informed of the latest in their subject area, as well as answer specific questions or challenges from individual educators. Read on for some ideas on how to best use those tools.

Administrator, early childhood educators, Web junkies, education job seekers, news hounds, and many others will find great resources available in one or all of Education World's Mailing Lists. Check them out.

Sign up for breaking news bulletins.

If you're teaching current events and want to know the latest news as it happens, sign up for CNN's free Breaking News Alerts, or any of the other e-mail newsletters CNN provides.

Get Inspired
Join a listserv.

Sign up for a listserv, such as EDTECH, WWWEDU, or MiddleWeb.

Get Efficient
Select the best listserv delivery option.

Many mail lists provide users with the option of receiving each post individually or receiving each day's or each week's posts in a single digest. Although daily or weekly digests save room, the files often are too big to read thoroughly. Choosing the one post at a time feature, scanning the subject line, and deleting posts that aren't relevant will save time in the long run.
