iPad App Review: Words Magic Sight Words

App Name:  Words Magic Sight Words

Cost:  Free

What does it promise?  Through engaging graphics, audio and animation, a young child can learn the alphabet, numbers and spellings of words. The app also offers three-level memory and “bubble” games. The app promises to (1) teach kids the alphabet, numbers and words and (2) let them practice writing letters in different colors. It offers more than 80 sight words with relevant images, as well as audio and animations on the homepage.

Does it deliver?  This easy, rudimentary app for young children will get them on the road to learning to read.

Can I use it in my classroom?  One more arrow in the teacher’s quiver, it can help young children master spelling and reading basics.
