5 Tech Tools for Teachers: Amazon Whispercast, Inkspace & More

 

This week Education World featured two tech tools that teachers can use to help them in and out of the classroom. Amazon’s Whispercast and the recently announced NexGen are two great resources that educators can use to get organized and share ideas but there are also a few more tools out there that can enhance your classroom lessons.

 

Here's a list Education World staff compiled of 5 tools that teachers might want to check out.

 

1.Amazon Whispercast

Amazon Whispercast is a tool that allows teachers to organize e-textbooks, find and store new content and apps. It’s a great tool in a technology-advanced age where e-readers are slowly gain traction in classrooms everywhere. Educators will find it easy to keep their tools and content organized and readily available on the wide array of mobile devices that support Amazon applications.

 

2.NexGen

NexGen is a new app that hasn’t quite made it’s way to the market as yet but has an inspiring concept that will cause educators to gravitate towards it. It’s an app created by educators for educators with a concentration on STEM education. Their goal is to provide teachers with the educational tools they need in order to inspire their students to think like modern day scientists, technicians, engineers and mathematicians.

 

3.Quandary

Quandary is smart and simple technological tool that allows teachers to create quizzes and tests for students to take online.  The Quandry team refers to these tests and quizzes as “an action maze.” Students must navigate their way through the exams by choosing the right choice from their answer keys.

 

4.Inkscape

If you are looking to express a more artistic side as well as teach art by using a technology, Inkscape offers a fun and easy way to do so. Inkscape is a photo editor/creator software that teachers can use for free. You might even find it useful for creating your own visuals for everyday use in the classroom.

 

5.Google Charts

While Amazon has been a growing competitor in the EdTech market, Google has also made it a case to be one of the front-runners. Google Charts is a tool that was created as a multipurpose tool for anyone to use. However, it can be by teachers to create charts or “visualize data,” as Google says. It’s a tool that can be passed on from educator to student as a comfortable format to use in the classroom.

 

There are a plethora of great tech tools for educators available. Some free and some paid but for the most part a lot of them can make your lives easier in the classroom. With your busy lifestyle, it can be hard to stay on top of new tech info., but Education World has you covered.
