C IS FOR CLEANUP:
DIRECTIONS FOR CLEANING UP YOUR HARD DRIVE

Your computer will run better if you clean up the hard drive regularly.

Your computer is in a hurry; it throws pieces of data into whatever empty spots it can find on your hard drive.

Disorganized storage can slow down your computer.

Your computer has a built in system for organizing your hard drive. To use it:

  • Go to Start>Programs>Accessories>System Tools> and choose Disk Defragmenter. Defragging the C: drive monthly will speed up your computer.
  • Before or after defragging, go to Start>Programs>Accessories>System Tools> and choose Disk Cleanup. Run Disk Cleanup for the C: drive. Disk Cleanup throws away temporary Internet files and other unneeded files that could slow down your PC.
