JACKSON FIVE OF FILE MANAGEMENT
To keep your files organized, follow my five rules for file management:
- Keep a file on the desktop only when using it; otherwise, store files in folders in My Documents.
- If you have ten or more loose files, it's time to store them in folders.
- Don't be afraid to delete files, especially if you can you make a paper copy or find the file elsewhere.
- Create folders within folders. For example, create a main folder for a particular class, and then create a folder within that folder for parent letters or lesson plans.
- Be specific when naming folders. Science Lessons First Quarter, for example, is better that Papers.
