The influx of Chromebooks being used in the classroom solves a lot of problems. However, it also creates a new one: how schools are supposed to keep track of them all? EdTech giant GoGuardian is looking to help simplify this for administrators.
“GoGuardian, creator of award-winning digital learning software, announces the upcoming launch of GoGuardian Fleet, a new product allowing educators to easily manage large numbers of Chromebooks,” according to BusinessWire.
“This product streamlines the tasks required to manage school-issued devices, making technology implementation more efficient.”
Administrators face the big task of making sure that all of the devices in the classrooms are properly cared for. That includes making sure that all of the staff is trained and up-to-date on the tools that are available to make their lives easier. However, the sheer volume of this can be overwhelming, which why GoGuardian is stepping in.
“GoGuardian believes that technological literacy is crucial to a student’s success, both inside and outside of the classroom. Yet the lack of a scalable solution to manage large numbers of devices often detracts from or delays the value that schools can provide to all students with Chromebooks,” according to Cody Rice, GoGuardian Fleet Product Manager.
“Because the time and energy spent managing a Chromebook deployment can be a barrier to their use in schools, many districts opt to only issue Chromebooks to certain grade levels at a time. So, the focus should be on removing any barriers to their use, while continuing to provide tools that ensure every student has access to the best educational resources available.”
The product itself won’t see a release until June 2016, tentatively. However, the promise that it brings is enough to provide peace of mind to administrators who are struggling to keep their devices organized.
