Entertainer to Host Streaming Concert for K-5 Students Around the Globe to Commemorate Connected Educator Month

Dave Ruch, performer and teaching artist, is planning "the biggest K-5 singalong ever" via a free streaming concert set to happen Oct. 30 in honor of connected educator month, according to eSchoolNews.com.

The concert, which is slated to run for 20 minutes beginning at 1:15pm EST, will use a webinar platform to connect participating classrooms from around the world.

"Get ready to move, think, laugh, learn, respond to questions and enjoy a shared experience with classrooms just like yours from across North America and beyond," Dave Ruch's website says.

"So far, the concert has generated some big interest both at home and abroad, with registration from 37 states and countries as far as Saudi Arabia and Singapore. A school in Lagos, Nigeria will even stay late to take part," according to eSchoolNews.

The concert will take place through Zoom, which is compatible with Smartboards, laptops, iPads and other commonly used devices.

"If you have an internet connection, you have everything you'll need," said Ruch on his site. Ruch hopes to recruit schools from all 50 states, 10 Canadian provinces and as many other countries as possible to set a record with the free event on Oct. 30.

For those getting ready to participate, heed some special advice from Ruch as he recommends how to best prepare for the event.

"Oh, and please be sure to take some pics and videos of your class interacting with the performance – – I’ll be creating a gallery to share those afterwards," he said on his site.
