In what appeared to be a routine meeting before the beginning of the school year at Valley High School in West Des Moines, Iowa, a group of about 30 teachers interrupted their superintendent to join together in one of the best back-to-school parodies, ever.

Singing to the Les Miserables song "One More Day," Valley High School teachers lamented having "one more day" to go back-to-school in a clever and hilarious lamentation of things like learning the Common Core and picking what professional learning community to join.

"One more day before we start!/Do I join her for PD?/ Learning targets bring you freedom/ Do I join their PLC?/Common assessments shall be made/ Formative or summative?" the teachers sang in the video posted to YouTube with full lyrics, now at over 220,000 views at the time of this article.

But after a little tongue-and-cheek mourning over the end of summer and the return to work, the teachers remembered why they chose the profession in the first place for the most endearing part of the song.

One more day to education/ We will help these students grow!/ We'll be ready for these schoolboys/Teach them what they don't know!

Watch em' run around/ Catch 'em if they fall/ Making sure the classroom's/Ready for them all
