App Review: 'TeacherKit' (iPhone)

App Name: TeacherKit

Cost: Free

What does it promise? The TeacherKit App promises a way for teachers to organize their classroom or classrooms depending on how many classes they teach. From behavior notes to attendance the app promises to provide teachers with the tools they need to keep track of their ever-growing classrooms.

“Over a million educators worldwide trust TeacherKit with managing their time and activities,” according to iTunes.

“TeacherKit helps you organize classes and students easily. Create a seating chart, record attendance, log behavior, and track grades all with few taps.”

Does it deliver? Yes. TeacherKit delivers with flying colors and we mean that literally. The app is one of the crispest looking apps that are available for teachers and its visual appeal is only one of its many pluses. Everything the app promises is available for teachers. For teachers who have multiple classes, you will be able to appreciate the fact that you can add and keep track of as many classes as you would like. Creating seating charts and taking attendance is very easy especially if you manage to import your class roster easily. The behavior notes for students could be very useful especially come parent-teacher conference time, or when assessing student’s grades.

Can I use it in the classroom? Yes. This app is geared toward classroom use however it doesn’t really pose much educational benefit to the student at all. It does however; help keep the teacher on top of their classrooms, which can make for an easier and less stressful environment. This app is all about making the educators life easier and it does so in the simplest and most efficient ways.
