Parent-teacher conferences are stressful for both parties. What should be discussed? How should you prepare? What questions should you ask?

The first tip, do your homework

"Parents can maximize their parent-teacher conferences by becoming familiar with the curriculum before the conference," said Kimberly from Funky First Grade. "That makes understanding the assessment data and progress much easier."

Another tip shared on the site is for parents to ask how they can help at home

"Ask the teacher for specific suggestions about how you can help your child at home," Kimberly said. "Whether your child is struggling or needs to be challenged, your teacher should be able to provide specific instructions to help you focus on the most important academic skills to reinforce."
