Students, Teachers in Midlands Head Back to School This Week

Summer is coming to a close, and teachers and administrators all over the country are returning to schools to prepare for the new school year. For many kids and teachers in the Midlands -- the middle part of the United States -- this week is their first week back to school. 

In South Carolina, students and teachers entering Haribon West Elementary shared their feelings about going back during an open house meeting Sunday night, according to WISTV.com. 

Riley Woodson of Chapin said he had a great summer, but is ready for "getting back to the books."

"We get an opportunity to build a relationship with new parents and also greet our returning students," said Principal Artur Newton. "Believe it or not they're excited about going to a new grade, meeting a teacher and also meeting new friends."
