Tech in the Classroom: Pebble Smartwatch

What is it?  The Pebble Smartwatch makes critical apps, notifications and other features accessible on one's wrist. 

How does it work?  With the smartwatch, users can get their most important calls, texts, emails and other information. The watch runs on batteries and with just a glance at the screen, users can see their notifications, the latest game scores and more.

How hard is it to use?  The device is handy for using Twitter, Yelp, fitness and music apps, etc. The smartwatch is simple to set up and use, supporting both iPhone and Android. Once the user gets a notification, s/he can easily dismiss it. Users need all of three buttons to interface with their apps. 

How well does it work?  The Pebble Smartwatch is said to work very well for on-the-go, easy communication and organization. The device is slim, sleek and easy to use. 

Can I use it in the classroom?  With the smartwatch, students can use a Web interface to send texts to their teachers regarding homework trouble or questions they are hesitant to ask out loud in the classroom. In addition, the device can function as a remote for PowerPoint presentations and other organizational tools.
