Tech in the Classroom: World Languages Map

What is it?  The World Languages Map is an interactive Web site where users can learn fun facts about different continents and the languages spoken there.  In each continent, a person says the same set of phrases in the language appropriate to the location.

How does it work?  The home page presents a world map. Students pick a continent to explore and learn about the languages spoken in the area. Once they select a continent, users can read facts and statistics. They also will see speech bubbles and can hear the languages spoken, such as French, Dutch, Italian, Mandarin, Turkish, Arabic and others.

How hard is it to use?  The map is easy for users of all ages to explore. A large font and helpful directions simplify navigation.

How well does it work?  The site works well and provides useful information for users seeking to learn about languages spoken all around the world.

How do I use it in the classroom?  Whether used in a history, world language or geography lesson, the World Languages Map offers a great resource for students of all ages.
