Materials Needed

a variety of materials, such as paper plates, straws, cotton balls, sponges, plastic containers, cubes, counters, empty film canisters, salt, sand, water, various measuring tools, masking tape (See the complete list of materials at Classroom Olympics.)

Lesson Plan

Have students participate in a number of Olympic-type activities, such as a cotton ball shot put, paper plate discus throw, high arm jump, straw javelin throw, and sponge squeeze, as they practice measurement skills. Assessment

Evaluate students based on observation.
