No Educator Left Behind is a series providing answers from the U.S. Department of Education to questions about the federal No Child Left Behind Act and how it will affect educators. If you have a question about No Child Left Behind, send an e-mail to Ellen Delisio, and we will submit your question to the Department of Education.
Question:
How will testing students annually help principals?
U.S. Department of Education:
Results from annual tests will show principals exactly how much progress each teacher's students have made. That will help principals make good decisions about program selection, curriculum arrangement, and professional development. Along with information gained through other provisions in the No Child Left Behind Act, principals will have the information and the freedom to get funding for exactly what teachers need to meet the needs of every child.
