Heartprints:
An Inspiring School-Wide February Activity

Share

I have had a great response to this school-wide activity. One morning early in February, I read aloud the book Heart Prints, by P. K. Hallinan, during my morning announcements.

Via heartwarming verse, rhyming text, and delightful illustrations, beloved children's book author P.K. Hallinan describes some of the ways readers can brighten the world with acts of kindness and caring as they leave heartprints wherever they go.

But reading the story is just the beginning That afternoon, I put sheets of the coupons (example above, click here for a printable [pdf] sheet, Adobe Acrobat required) in every teacher's box. I encourage students to leave "heartprints" for their friends. Before I knew it, the building is covered with heartprints!
