Five Books for Cinco De Mayo

On May 5, people across the United States will be celebrating Cinco de Mayo, a holiday which commemorates the Mexican army's 1862 victory over France at the Battle of Puebla during the Franco-Mexican War. Cinco de Mayo is a relatively minor holiday in Mexico, but in the United States, it has turned into a popular celebration.

For younger students, Cinco de Mayo and its festivities may be a hard thing to grasp. These books can supplement to your lesson plans or offer independent reading opportunities for motivated learners.
