ICT plays
a major role in the following technology programs for teachers:
Intel
Teach to the Future Program
Intel
Teach to the Future with support from Microsoft is a worldwide initiative to
address the barriers teachers face in effectively applying computer
technology to improve student learning. Over three years, 400,000 classroom
teachers in 20 countries will be trained through the Intel Teach to the
Future Program.
As part
of the Intel Teach to the Future Program, ICT:
- Created and
continues to update the training curriculum.
- Trains and
contracts with the Master Teachers who deliver the training to the
100,000 U.S. participating teachers.
- Manages the
national Teacher Leadership Seminar Program which is supported by the
Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation.
- Serves as the Intel
Regional Training Agency (as a link to http://www.ict.org/leainfo.html)
responsible for training 6,000 participating teachers in northern
California.
Building
the Digital Bridge Project
The goal
of the Building the Digital Bridge Project is to improve teacher
competencies in the integration of computer technologies with classroom
curriculum. As Sonoma State University's partner in this Project, ICT
provides state-of-the-art, instructor-led, online training courses. The
Digital Bridge Project is funded by the U.S. Department of Education’s
Preparing Teachers for the 21st Century Program.
Hewlett-Packard
Company Silicon Valley Grants Program
Classroom
teachers who receive equipment donations as part of this program attend ICT
training classes on integrating technology into the classroom. For a list of
courses and grant information: http://webcenter.hp.com/grants/us/svg/k12/k12.html.
NorCal
TeachTech
NorCal
TeachTech provides 60 hours of follow-up training to northern California
teachers who have completed the Intel Teach to the Future Program. This
training is both classroom-based and online. NorCal TeachTech is offered in
partnership with Sonoma State University and is supported by a grant from
the California State University System.

ICT
played a major role in the following technology programs for teachers:
BellSouth/Hewlett-Packard
Power to Teach Project
The
1999-2000 BellSouth/Hewlett-Packard Power to Teach Project trained over
1,100 classroom teachers how to integrate the use of computers into their
existing curriculum so students would increase their learning and
achievement. Project sites were in Georgia, Alabama, Mississippi, and
Tennessee. This project was supported by the BellSouth Foundation, the

Intel
Applying Computers in Education (ACE) Project
The
1998-2000 Intel ACE Project trained over 4,200 teachers in California,
Oregon, Texas, New Mexico, Washington, Arizona, Massachusetts, and
Washington D.C. This project was supported by the Intel Foundation,
Hewlett-Packard Company, and Microsoft Corporation. The project web site was
donated by iUniverse.com.
