This site was created by a Web class under the guidance of manager Joy Lohmer, and, from the automatically scrolling "News" item on the homepage to the many delightful photographs on the site, there's plenty of evidence that the Web class continues to get some pretty good grades!

"The first year, my Web class created the site, and I update it as the year progresses. This year our goal is to have faculty and staff web pages," reports Joy. "We are a rural 1A school district," she adds.

Of course, the mission of keeping current with technology is sometimes even harder in rural school districts, as broadband access is rarer, for example. So a special congratulations is deserved by rural schools and districts who win Cool School status.

In addition to the scrolling "News" item, several of the site's pages contain lively animations, including the Sports and Organizations pages. If the purpose of a school or district Web site is to facilitate communication and keep the school community up to date about what's going on, certainly having such lively animations and colorful graphics helps encourage people to visit and fulfill the site's mission.

By that measure, for sure --
