B+ REVIEW:
This site is the homepage for the nonprofit Giraffe Project. The organization says it's "free flacks for heroes -- finding, commending and publicizing people who stick their necks out for the common good. Our mission is to get others to follow their lead." On the page are links to stories of their current "heroes" and information for nominating someone as a "Giraffe". The project also promotes The Giraffe Program, which is a curriculum for K-12 that teaches kids about other real heroes and interests them in the concepts of courage, caring and responsibility. Links on the homepage have information on the curriculum and feedback from educators and teachers who have used the information. The Project's main premise is that people want to be involved but are sometimes reluctant to start. They emphasize what others have done to encourage others to help. The site reinforces the good that's out there and can motivate you to get going.
