GRADE LEVEL: 9-12

A CONTENT:
This database contains information on the economy, defense, geography, government, people, national anthem, news, and local data of countries around the world.

A AESTHETICS:
The site uses maps on its data pages and the home page uses flags, tables and some graphics in its layout.

A ORGANIZATION:
Each section has a link back to the home page and each country's page has an alphabetical index that allows users to jump to another country's page.

REVIEW:
This site bills itself as a World Encyclopedia and has anthems, flags and maps from a large group of nations around the world. Links are also available to international news, world organizations and governments. The site was created to "provide a forum for the world to come together and begin to understand one another." Although that's quite an undertaking, the author is off to a good start. A planned addition is an online game that allows users to become national leaders. Users compete with other online nations, which enables them to gain an understanding of other countries' perspectives. This is a great site for political science and history teachers and students to discover nations outside their own.
