Learn With PBS
https://thinktv.pbslearningmedia.org/
GRADE LEVEL: K-12

A CONTENT:
This part of the Public Broadcast System (PBS) Web site was developed just for educators. It includes curriculum ideas and an online forum.

A AESTHETICS:
The graphics at the site are very low-key but appropriate. The colors are very light and the spacing makes the site very easy to read.

B ORGANIZATION:
The home page has links to each of the areas of the site but does not provide descriptions. Each section page has detailed information on that section. The navigation menu at the bottom refers mainly to other areas of the site so users do best using their back button on their browsers to move around.

REVIEW:
The highlight of this section of the PBS Web site is the searchable database (called Resource Finder) that allows users to search the entire Web site using criteria such as grade levels and subject matter. Alternatively, users can search by keyword and check a box if they are looking for lesson plans. The Adults Learning Satellite Service offers programs on a variety of subjects from Anthropology to social issues. Other areas off the main page of this section include information on Electronic Field Trips, Mathline, Scienceline and Instructional Television. The site also has resources for current education events and issues as well as an online forum for teacher discussions. The resources here explain a lot about PBS but also provide educators with ideas, plans and direction for classroom instruction in a variety of subjects.
