Multidisciplinary Health Science Curriculum
Encourages students to develop positive health habits.
Grade Level: 6-8, 9-12
This site provides more than three hundred interdisciplinary activities to encourage students to develop positive habits which will enhance the quality of their lives as they age. It was developed by the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio with funding from a Science Education Partnership Award (SEPA) from the National Center for Research Resources.


LifeWorks
High schoolers look here for info on medical careers.
Grade Level: 6-8, 9-12
LifeWorks, from the National Institutes of Health office of Science Education, explores more than one hundred careers in health and medical sciences and the range of opportunities at different education levels.


Collected Learning Units in Mathematics
National Security Agency looks into math – created by teachers!
Grade Level: K-2, 3-5, 6-8, 9-12
This very simple site lists learning units as a table of contents on the main page. Units are grouped by Elementary, Middle School and High School. All of the units are in .PDF format so Adobe Acrobat Reader is needed.


Career Voyages
High schoolers will want to see this info on high-growth careers.
Grade Level: 9-12
The site is organized into four areas: students, parents, career changers, and career advisors. Users may explore the site by following the links to these four areas on the main page and top of subsequent pages or explore by industry category through the links on the left side of the page. The bottom navigation menu takes users to educational opportunities. There is also a short video available on how to navigate the site.

This site contains many advertisements that make the pages a little cluttered but there is a top navigation bar that leads to the well organized materials. Content is grouped into eight categories that are indexed in the main frame of the front page as well as the navigation bar. Each section also has an index of material that can be located within that section.

Dr. Goodword's Word Wizard
Vocabulary magic for grades 4-7.
Grade Level: 3-5, 6-8
Dr. Goodword’s Word Wizard offers a fun and engaging way for students to improve their vocabulary skills. Included are teachers’ resources with printable versions of the puzzle challenges and review sheets. A newsletter for students provides a word of the day along with spelling tips.


Earth from Space
Talk about changing your perspective!
Grade Level: 6-8, 9-12
This online exhibition features images, lesson plans and classroom activities that “explain how satellite imagery is gathered and used to expand the understanding of life on Earth”. It was created by the Smithsonian Institute in collaboration with the National Air and Space Museum.


Environmental Health Science Education
From the National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences, a winner.
Grade Level: K-2, 3-5, 6-8, 9-12
This site from The National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences provides students and teachers with resources and classroom materials that increase awareness of the link between the environment and human health.


Climate Discovery Teacher’s Guide
Climate related materials and lessons specifically for grades 5-9.
Grade Level: 3-5, 5-8, 9-12
This site was developed as a companion to the Climate Discovery exhibit at the National Center for Atmospheric Research Laboratory in Boulder, Colorado. The lesson materials are geared for grades 5-9 and facilitate student learning about our planet’s climate system.


The Blue Book of Grammar and Punctuation
An ad for the book, but the site has valuable features.
Grade Level: 3-5, 5-8, 9-12
Although this site is an advertisement for selling the book, it is a great quick reference guide for grammar and punctuation and includes quizzes and interactive tests for checking your knowledge.
