REVIEW:
Activities on the site focus on national parks in the Washington, D.C., area but could be used to study watersheds anywhere. Interactive projects include identifying plants in three different habitats, identifying macro invertebrates and learning how they can be indicators of the health of a stream, and playing the Go Fish game. As students move through the watershed from spawning grounds to the ocean in game, they learn about the habits of anadromous fish and the perils they face. Students can explore the issues and work in groups to find possible solutions. There is also an interactive database in which students can enter data and compare it to data from other locations.
