CONTENT:
Adolescent and School Health, a division of the National Center for Chronic Disease Prevention and Health Promotion, provides this site to help "prevent the most serious health risk behaviors among children, adolescents and young adults."
AESTHETICS:
The site is simple in layout, predominately text, and user friendly.
ORGANIZATION:
A left-side menu for accessing the different sections of the site is available on each page.
REVIEW:
This site will be of interest to any parent, teacher, administrator or school board member who wants to improve student health. Users will find the latest research, school health strategies, and school health program guidelines. The Resources and Tools section contains information on current issues and youth risk behaviors and effective interventions. Included is a link to Promoting Better Health for Young People Through Physical Activity and Sports, a report by the secretary of Health and Human Services and the secretary of Education. This report outlines ten strategies for improving the physical fitness of young people and the adults they will become.
