REVIEW:
This online literary magazine was created by the Creative Writing Department at the University of Alaska Anchorage and the Alaska Literary Consortium. Users will find some interesting reading in the Family Gatherings, Alaska Traditions, Alaska Reads, and Alaska Writes sections. Teachers will also want to check out the two workbooks: the Reading Workbook and the Writing Workbook. These workbooks are designed to help teachers develop activities in reading and writing, and each is divided into multiple skill levels and elementary (which is broken into pre-K, 1-3, and 4-6 grades), middle school, and high school. Educators, parents, and students in Alaska contributed all the activities. A showcase of student work could serve as a model for students doing their own writing assignments.
