REVIEW:
What better way to involve children in teamwork while learning life science concepts and environmental awareness than with a school garden? Teachers will find classroom activities, information on beginning a school garden, plant ideas, and advice from other teachers. Each month has a featured lesson; November's is Turn on Learning With Bulbs. You can register your school to receive free seeds to begin your garden, find e-mail pals for your class, and find out what other schools are doing in their gardens. Also included are a grants and resource directory, book reviews, a school garden showcase, and more. Parents will find resources to turn "kids' questions into fun discoveries." The section Parents' Primer has useful information for parents or teachers, such as What Turns Kids On and Off to Gardening, Theme Gardens, Plants Kids Love, and much more.
